ABAYASS began with a simple idea: traditional Arab women's clothing deserves to be reimagined and elevated. The abayas available were often too plain, rarely making the confident statement we were looking for. So we set out to create something different. The timeless silhouettes of Arab abayas and dresses, reimagined in vogue designs and colours, thoughtful details, and premium fabrics.

The Founder's Journey

Growing up in Europe, I didn't get the chance to grow up around the abaya's culture. I fell in love with the Khaleeji way of dressing the day I moved to Dubai. When I started looking for abayas, I found they were predominantly in darker shades or heavily embellished. I wanted softer, brighter colours and designs that felt like me, refined enough to honour the tradition, yet versatile enough to be worn anywhere in the world. So I stopped searching and started creating. I wanted pieces I could wear in the UAE, in Europe, and anywhere else.

Every piece is made individually, and it all begins with the fabric. We choose every material by hand, selecting it for the way you'll actually live in it — breathable, flowing weaves that keep you cool through the summer heat, and warmer, weightier fabrics that move with you into the cooler months.
